Help Tips Page

We have a project in the works to build out a nice, integrated help system just to make our wedding websites even easier to use. We have a couple of projects in the way though, and realized from our Analytics software that people were searching Google for “Nearlyweds Tips.” In order to get something up, we added a page to our blog that is the start of our help documentation. Just click the Nearlyweds Help Tips tab at the top of the page.

Techcrunch and StyleMePretty announced this morning custom wedding planning templates that utilize Google Docs.   We love it!  We use Google docs for almost everything at our office, and often refer our customers to using Google docs for planning and sorting and what not.

We are pretty interested in figuring out a way to integrate this with our existing RSVP feature.  So you use Google Docs for your guest lists (they do a better job at converting existing excel files into spreadsheets than we do anyway), and when someone responds on your Nearlyweds Wedding Website, we automatically update your Google Doc with that response.

Something you would be interested in?  Leave a quick comment and let us know.  If you think this would be too confusing and you like everything neatly located inside the Nearlyweds interface, let us know that too.

Never a lack of new things to do…

Two years ago we were the first to offer “matching wed-sites and invites” by partnering with some fabulous boutique wedding stationery designers (Feterie, Izzy Girl, mmmPaper, Rock Paper Scissors, and Carciofi Design).  Other wedding websites started to copy, but we kept pushing along with better usability and fresh designs from additional partners like Wedding Paper Divas and Offbeat Bride.

The response from our customers was wonderful, but…

We had a problem: there was no ability to scale.  Each template required custom html and css design with hand editing of 200+ design variables.  The templates looked great, but were expensive to build and a nightmare to browser test.

We created a solution: by building a simple and powerful web-based wysiwyg template building tool for stationery designers.  Now stationery designers can apply for an affiliate account, and publish wedding website templates directly.  The tool makes the process quick, painless, and fun.

We think we are really onto something here – everyone benefits tremendously.

Stationery designers all over the country (or world) can now reach customers earlier in the planning process than they would have access to otherwise (because brides buy wedding websites early on, whereas stationery is later in the planning process).  They can also provide existing customers with a matching wedding website.  Plus designers receive commissions on each one of their sites in use by a paying customer.

Wed-site Customers will have access to an incredible selection of design – everything from modern, to traditional, to sub-cultures like steampunk, geek, goth, and rockabilly.

Go see the new site.  If you are a stationery designer, apply to start producing designs!  It’s free to apply and you get paid on any designs of yours being used!
