A mountainside engagement is certainly romantic for CJ and Christina. Here’s a glimpse of their wonderful love story. They met through the church. Christina played the piano and sang in the worship team while CJ got involved with the sound technician crew. She loved talking with him, especially as he made her feel so at ease. His reserved and affable personality is similar to hers. They would always talk about their history classes during the first semester that they got to know one another.
CJ asked Christina out for the first time in November 2014 after they spent the night the whole night dancing together at a contra dance. For a year, they dated. Within a few months, they became the best of friends and most cherished confidantes.
For their one-year anniversary, CJ put together a special hiking plan on the Rough Ridge trail, where they went on their first hike together. They went up to Christina’s favorite spot and settled there. As they gazed out at the purple mountains and breathed in the crisp, fall air, CJ wrapped his arms around her and told her how much she loves her and wants to marry her. Christina was elated and emotional as she said “yes” to forever to her best friend. The mountains where Christina grew up and fell in love will always be special to her.
